GRAND ARMÉE (2025)

This one took a while. I started this album 2.5 years ago and I’m still tweaking. And by tweaking I mean fixing basic production practices I just learned via a YouTube short.

Under normal conditions you could assume all this tweaking would result in better-sounding music, and some of the time you’d be right. Some of the time you get Coppola-level Redux(es) and some of the time you’re getting George Lucas cancellation-level reworks. But hey, it’s all in the game - because there are genuinely good moments if you look past all the…alien whatever he added. Not sure why I started a Star Wars comparison when I know next to nothing about Star Wars. I’m more familiar with Star Wars discourse, and how they did John Boyega dirty.

Anyway, people have certainly taken longer to produce an album so why don’t you go hassle them. I’ve been trying to make my beats sound deeper, richer, and sometimes needlessly complicated. Then I have to go back and simplify the beats and while I’m in here I might as well see if I can make this pop and then two freakin’ months go by. It’s like when Han Solo opened up the…star…container ship…thing...and all the star junk fell out. I’ve also been trying to move away from sample + beat + 4 bar loop in an effort to grow my brain and niche appeal, and if you don’t have a solid foundation of music theory, that’s a bit like finding a…convertor thing on planet Tattooine! That one’s for the real soft sci-fi nerds.

Anyway I’ll be adding new tracks and remixes as I finish them until I feel like I’m at a different level of production then I will start a new album around 2030 unless the motivation strikes (money starts pouring in).
